Carrie Underwood Celebrates 100th Grand Ole Opry Appearance

So we know that the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville is pretty darn important to country artists and country music more broadly.

It's also safe to say that it's really important to Carrie Underwood. The reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year notched her 100th appearance on the show over the weekend almost 12 years after her 2005 debut.

Grand Ole Opry member Connie Smith introduced the superstar, presenting her with a commemorative print to hang on the wall and a bouquet of roses. "Opry fans, all of us Opry members, and the entire Opry family are excited when you come home to the Opry stage," she told Carrie according to a press release. "Even when you’ve been on the road more than 200 days a year, you've always come back to the Opry. That tells me you love us, and we love you right back."

Carrie made clear there are plenty more Opry appearances to come, too. "I grew up dreaming of one day performing here and maybe even becoming a member," she beamed. "That dream comes true over and over each time I take the Opry stage. Here’s to the next 100!"

Look for Carrie this weekend on the 52nd ACM Awards where she's up for Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. Watch her perform "The Fighter" with Keith Urban below.
