It's taken nearly five years, but the first of what could be many Rascal Flatts-themed restaurants appears to be on its way to Los Angeles.
Eater Los Angeles reports that work has begun on the Rascal Flatts Restaurant & Bar at Hollywood & Highland Center, a shopping mall and entertainment complex in Hollywood. Doors are expected to open late this year and it looks like the guys will have stiff competition. Both Sammy Hagar and Jimmy Buffett have restaurants in the complex, which gets plenty of foot traffic thanks to the many tourists that come through.
This isn't the first time Rascal Flatts restaurants have been the subject of fan chatter, of course. The trio first revealed plans to become restaurateurs in 2012 with talk of a 14,000 sq. ft. joint in Phoenix complete with multiple bars and a state-of-the-art sound stage. Subsequent builds were planned for Columbus, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Minneapolis and Long Island, NY, too, though they never materialized. Another came close to opening in Cleveland last year, but it's not clear where things stand on that project.
In any event, the guys are hard at work readying for the release of Back To Us, their 10th studio album to be released May 19. The lead single from the project is "Yours If You Want It," the video of which can be seen here.
