Carrie Underwood Is Serious About Girls Sports

Carrie Underwood is serious about girls sports.

Carrie's fitness and lifestyle brand CALIA by Carrie Underwood launched in partnership with Dick's Sporting Goods in 2014 and its success is allowing the superstar to fund girls team sports projects through the Dick's Sporting Goods Foundation. The partnership has so far pledged $200,000 to fund an estimated 100 teams across the country this month, the third Sports Matter donation that's part of a $500,000 total commitment.

"Sports were a big part of my life growing up, so it's important to me that girls across the country get those same opportunities," Carrie says in a statement. "We are empowering hundreds of girls across the country to learn, grow and dream, teaching them to do what they love later in life."

The partnership is part of a broader, multi-year $50 million commitment through Sports Matter to raise awareness and support youth sports programs facing budget shortfalls across the country.  Thousands of teams and leagues have been supported so far.
