Little Big Town's Early Days Were Tough

Always together, in good times and bad. That's the story of Little Big Town, who appeared this morning on CBS This Morning ahead of Sunday's (4/2) 52nd ACM Awards on the network.

The early days were tough. "We never talked about quitting," Karen Fairchild said. "But I remember a certain truck stop outside Boston. And [Kimberly Schlapman] and I ran in to use the restroom and [she] was like, 'What are we doing?!"

"It was because we'd just driven ourselves 22 hours – the four of us," Kimberly added. "In a van, from [Nashville] to Boston. We stopped for cheap burgers on the way. And someone would lay down in the middle of the van and sleep."

All's well that ends well, though, and the guys are up for Vocal Group of the Year as Sunday's show. Oh, and they've created their own wine! Have a look below.

Little Big Town on struggles and finding success

Little Big Town is nominated for vocal group of the year at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards. The group's latest album, "The Breaker," topped the country charts. Jan Crawford spoke with the musicians about their tough climb toward success and the special bond they share.
