Who says persistence pays off? Sam Hunt, for one.

The "Body Like A Back Road" singer revealed on the 2017 CMT Music Awards Red Carpet that he spent much of last summer flying back and forth to Hawaii to convince Hannah Lee Fowler to come home. The now-married pair had then come off a break up and she apparently wasn't quite ready to jump back in.

"I think last summer I went out [to Hawaii] about seven times in about three months," he told Entertainment Tonight's Sophie Schillaci. "Trying to talk to her about coming back. And the seventh trip I convinced her."

The couple was married in April at a small ceremony in Georgia among family and friends, an experience full of very meaningful moments that caught him off guard. "Like seeing your mom sitting beside your grandmother who needs help getting up to walk down to aisle and like [Hannah's] little brother is escorting my grandmother down the aisle and just to see our families come together in that way was really special."
