According to E News, during a recent interview, Shelton reflected on that time in his life.
He admitted both he and Gwen were individually still trying to heal from the emotional pain that people experience while going through a divorce.
The country star believes it was a miracle that he and Gwen crossed paths, though looking back, he said both he and Gwen thought their relationship was going to be a rebound.
But, here they are, three years later, madly in love with one another.
As Blake puts it, their relationship gets better and better each day.
