Maren Morris has just announced that her new album will be called Girl after her current single and will be released on March 8.

She posted to Instagram, "My new album GIRL, available March 8th. pre-order tonight at midnight EST."

She released the album's title song as its first single in January as a power empowerment anthem for women. Maren told Billboard, "Me choosing 'Girl' as the first single, it's about transitioning from someone who felt like she didn't need anybody into someone who very much needs people, and is okay with admitting that. That really frightening vulnerability that I've been trying to avoid, I'm not doing that any longer."

Morris, whose debut album Hero was released in 2016, won a Grammy in 2018 for Best Country Solo Performance for "My Church." She is nominated for four Grammys on Sunday.

Maren's "Girl: The World Tour," is set to start March 9, 2019 in Chicago with Cassadee Pope and RaeLynn as her support acts.
