When Jimmie Allen scored his first country music chart topper with his song "Best Shot," it was his winning moment and he did what any dad would do, he took his 4-year-old son to Disney World.

Jimmie said yesterday, "We've been going to Disney anyway, we've been going at Christmas since he was one. And I'm a huge Disney fan anyway and this was the first year we could go to Disney without selling a kidney (laughs). You know, it was great we got a chance to go there for almost two weeks and just kind of unwind and be thankful for the year that we had."

Being on the road so much with a busy tour schedule and newly found success in country music, Allen knows just how important it is to spend as much time with his growing son now. He told his young boy at a recent show, "When daddy leaves, this is what he is doing. I'm trying to help these people have a good time, you know like when daddy's home I'm trying to make you have a good time. And then, this is how daddy can take you to Disney World, I can pay for soccer and your clothes for school. And he goes, 'Oh, I get it" then he's off running somewhere else."

Jimmie then adds, "I'm trying to make more time for him so I'm learning to say no to things because that time is so important."

He posted to Instagram on December 31, 2018, "As I look back on all of the great moments of 2018, from my debut single “Best shot” being #1 for 3 weeks, making my Grand Ole Opry debut, playing Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda and to playing On STEVE Harvey. All of those moments were great and I don’t take them for granted but the BEST moment of 2018 was when radio tour ended the night before my sons first soccer game and I was able to be there. It had been 5 weeks since I saw him because of radio tour. As soon as he saw me, he yelled “Daddy” then ran off the field and jumped in my arms...and yes I cried haha. My son is the one to motivates and being there for him that day was the greatest memory made this year."
