Scotty McCreery kept the Nashville tradition of celebrating a number one song this week as he hosted a party for the success of his song "This Is It" topping the country charts.

Scott co-wrote the romantic song and says he loves it being a part of people's lives, "That's the coolest thing for me. Whenever I write a song that's so personal and then folks tell me, 'Hey this song helped me through this time' or with 'This Is It,' 'It's gonna be our first dance song or this is what I'me walking down the aisle to' for me it's like 'Holy cow.' It's so cool that music has that effect and is that powerful and that people are connecting to it."

And his new song could keep Scotty a main fixture at weddings forever. He shares, "We get about ten or fifteen requests for me to sing at weddings every day now because of 'This Is It' and I wish I could make them all but, thank you for thinking about the song in general. Hopefully I can make one or two every now and then."

McCreery keeps real busy on the road as he plays shows this week in Detroit, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
