Yesterday (5/15) was a big one for Dan + Shay as they received their actual Grammy Awards in the mail; the Grammy was for  Best Country Duo / Group Performance for "Tequila." (The "awards" that are presented at the show are just generic model Grammys; it always takes a few months before the actual awards, with the winners' names printed on them, to be delivered).

The guys posted to Instagram last night, "Words can’t quite describe the emotions we felt when our grammy awards showed up at the studio today. We considered making a fictional video of us re-creating the actual moment of surprise, but we felt like it was more important to just say thank you. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us, thank you to everyone who is with us right now, and thank you to everyone will be with us as we continue on this musical journey. None of this would be possible without you. Also, sorry for the poor lighting, and low quality video. we were at the studio by ourselves and set the phone on top of a trash can, which was sitting on top of a couch."

Dan said in the video, "This is surreal to be holding this. We've worked for this our entire lives." Shay says, "My heart is beating still in this moment this is such a great accomplishment."

Dan + Shay's next award show appearance will be at the 2019 CMT Music Awards, where they are nominated for Video of the Year and Duo Video of the Year for "Speechless." The guys are also performing on the June 5th show live from Nashville.
