Keith Urban came to Nashville in the 1990's to become a star; while he achieved that goal, it took a long time to make it happen.

Keith shared with us what kept him going all those years before he "broke": "I didn't have any choice, you know I didn't really have a backup plan. It was always happening more than it just was. Right as it felt like, 'Man I'm just hitting my head against a brick wall, nothing's happening' there would be a little break of some sort even if it was tiny. It would be like, 'Okay there's a little momentum forward,' and that always kept me going."

He continued, "I always felt like what I'm trying to do is just around the corner and they just kept moving the corner. I just kept going and eventually, they stopped moving the corner."

Urban's new single is an Eric Church written song called "We Were."
