Luke Combs just released a new EP called The Prequel, and as he explains, the new music is a preview of things to come from him in the future.

He told us, "I just didn't want people to think that it was the only thing we were going to do for a long time. I didn't want to say, 'Oh, we're just going to put out these five songs and that's kind of it.' I wanted them to know it's kind of a jumping off point for the next part of the career, whatever that may be as far as whether that's a new album, or tour, or whatever. I just wanted to say this one's for a new era, kind of."

Combs added, "It's really been like five years from writing the songs to making the album, releasing the album, the deluxe, and now ... I put the album out two years ago this week, which is crazy to think that we didn't even have an album out two years ago."

Luke's latest single is "Beer Never Broke My heart."
