Luke Combs became an official member of the Grand Ole Opry family tonight (7/16).

Before the actual induction, Luke shared some thoughts with media backstage at the Opry. He said, "As a member of the Grand Ole Opry family or soon to be member tonight, I'll have the opportunity to continue to share my songs with people for the rest of my life. And I think that is a really awesome thing."

The Opry tweeted out, "And that’s what it’s all about! @lukecombs #OpryInduction #OpryMember."

The Opry also tweeted out the moment when he was inducted by Vince Gill and Joe Diffie. They wrote, "It's official @lukecombs is the newest member of the Grand Ole #Opry!

Luke said from the stage around 8PM central time, "It's pretty hard to find anything to say that wouldn't make me sound like an idiot. Here I am on stage with people that I grew up listening to, people that have shaped me as an artist and I just wanna say thank you to you guys, thank you to the Grand Ole Opry, thank you to the fans. You guys have to understand that you are the most important thing. Without you, there is no country music. There is no Grand Ole Opry. Thank you so much for what you guys do for me. I will never forget tonight."
