So ends stop number two of our Waffle House Tour, and Grovetown, we felt so much love from you today!
To the three of us, this Waffle House Tour is about SO much more than free swag and ninety nine cent waffles. This is about having an opportunity to put faces and names to each of you who so graciously allow us into your homes, your cars, and your lives every morning. We do not take that lightly, especially in a culture where everything is competing for your time and attention.
When Cash first joined the show in January, he, Dub and I had many discussions about what our vision was for this new version of the Kicks Wake Up Krew, and what our goals were moving forward. We all agreed that one of our biggest passions was getting out into this community and getting to know our listeners. We didn't want to just be three talking heads who walk in at six o'clock each morning, leave at nine o'clock and never connect with you outside of the show. At some point in those discussions, the idea of this Waffle House Tour was conceived, and it has been months of brainstorming, planning, scheduling, etc., so to see it all come to fruition is very rewarding.
However, no amount of brainstorming, planning, scheduling, etc., matters if no one shows up. And being completely honest, we wondered if anyone would show up; I mean, it's not like we are coming armed with Guitar Pull tickets or other sought-after incentives--besides those Waffle House coffee mugs, of course. ;)
Last week, though, we were BLOWN AWAY by the people who showed up just to say hello, take a picture and chat with us for awhile (and yes, get one of those coffee mugs!) I drove away from that Waffle House in North Augusta feeling absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude, and today in Grovetown was no different. It truly means the world to us that you take time out of your busy morning to come see us, to chat about something that you've heard us say on the show, or to simply say hello. It means the world to us because it validates all of the time, effort and hard work that we have invested into making the Kicks Wake Up Krew a show FOR this community.
We love meeting you. We love talking to you. We love hearing your stories, like Marsha and Otis, who listen to us each morning while they're killing it in the gym and working hard on their health; Emma & Ella, who listen everyday on their way to school; Carter, who begs his mom every morning to call in and play Can't Beat Jenny; Theresa, who listens on the Kicks 99 app while she's at the hospital with her sick husband. Those stories and countless more, motivate us to continue to work hard to give you our very best each day. To us, you are so much more than a listener...you are a friend, and we treasure the relationship that we have with you.
Thank you for choosing to spend your mornings with us. Thank you for trusting us to start your day off with some positive, happy vibes. Thank you for continuing to support us and for making us feel so loved.
