The debate is this: should Halloween be moved from October 31st, and instead be observed on the last Saturday of October each year? I read that 51 percent of millennials claim Halloween as their favorite holiday, and say that when it falls on a weekday, it really puts a damper on their celebrations.
And it's not just party-hard millennials who are on board with this idea: parents of younger children and kids in school say they would much rather enjoy trick-or-treating and other festive shenanigans without having to worry about school or work the following day.
The campaign was started by the Halloween & Costume Association, and if you'd like to sign the official petition on change.org, here it is: https://www.change.org/p/president-of-the-united-states-join-the-saturday-halloween-movement
(Mary Poppins Bender is all in favor of moving Halloween, so she can have all night to show off her Rapunzel costume!)
