That's exactly what the story of this struggling dad has done...he's a construction worker, and it was his little girl's birthday. He knew she really wanted a princess party, but all he could afford was a single piece of birthday cake. In the Instagram video below, you can see that his daughter is so touched by her dad's thoughtfulness that she's moved to tears.

As an adult, I have a different appreciation for the sacrifices that my parents made for me when I was younger. They didn't have a ton of money, but I never went without a gift on my birthday or Christmas. This one single piece of birthday cake meant more to this little girl than hundreds of dollars worth of presents, because she understood the love and sacrifice that were behind it.
