Reba McEntire has her shelves stacked with awards she's won, and she's about to add a big one. Reba will receive the 2019 Artist of a Lifetime Award at the 2019 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony.

Reba said, "I have loved entertaining people since I was a little girl and after being in the music business for more than 40 years, I’m still having so much fun! For CMT to recognize me as the ‘Artist of A Lifetime’ is pretty special."

She posted to Instagram last night, "And I’m honored to be celebrated!!! ???????????? Looking forward to a great night! Thanks @cmt!!!"

She follows in the footsteps of a handful of her fellow icons; Loretta Lynn, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers and Merle Haggard have also received the CMT Artist of a Lifetime accolade.

McEntire will receive the Artist of a Lifetime award during the ceremony when it airs live from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on October 16.

Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Dan + Shay and Kane Brown have been named as the 2019 CMT Artists of the Year.

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
