Carrie Underwood appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night (10/3) and shared a fun story of how she missed one of her plane connections heading to Los Angeles for the Hollywood round of her American Idol audition.

Carrie admitted that before that she'd never even been on an airplane. She told Colbert of flying, "It's terrifying. I'm 36 years old and it still freaks me out."

Underwood was alone heading to L.A. and had a bit of trouble getting there. She said, "I made a couple of connections and one plane was late so I missed my next plane. I was like, 'I'm gonna have to find some nice airport employee to tell me what to do, because I don't know what to do.' And I'm like on the phone with however my contact person was and I was like, 'Please don't kick me off the show' but I made it."

This year marks the fifteen anniversary of Carrie trying out for American Idol.
