Garth Brooks wrapped his 2019 Dive Bar tour in Philly last night (12/2).
After starting with a rousing “All Day Long” and “Rodeo,” he rolled through such favorites as “Standing Outside the Fire” and “Friends in Low Places" and covered idols like George Strait and Billy Joel, before closing with “The Dance.” After the show. Garth jumped on Facebook to talk about the experience and announce that the Dive Bar tour will extend to 2020.
He said, “Boston got rescheduled. We don’t have a rescheduled date yet. We might make them…’cause we’re about to announce that the ‘Dive Bar’ Tour – we’re not gonna bring it to an end! We’ve had too much fun. So, we’ll probably announce soon that we’re gonna announce the ‘Dive Bar’ Tour for next year; Boston will be the first one on it, I think, ‘cause that way everybody can just get home for Christmas and everybody be safe. So, we’ll either catch up before Christmas or right after. We’ll figure it out, though.”
Meanwhile, the 2nd part of Garth's A&E Biography "The Road I'm On..." special airs tonight. He offered, “It’s kind of a cry-fest. My apologies. When you cover everything big in your life from your kids to Miss Yearwood to the tour and hangin’ out with these guys. And these guys – some of these guys are in it, as well…just talking about the early days and today, as well.”
Brooks does have one problem with tonight's TV viewing. He said, “Here’s the problem – Part 2 is tomorrow night…but also, The Queen’s Christmas special is tomorrow night, too," referring to the CMA Christmas Special on ABC that his wife Trisha Yearwood hosts.
