Jason Aldean follows his own artistic instincts, no matter what is trending in country or in popular music. He tells us, "I think a lot of times in the music business if you got an artist that has a certain sound and it's work in and doing well and it's the new craze, like everybody kind of tries to follow that and do their own version of whatever that is. And that's just one thing that I don't have. And I just I know I've just always been comfortable in what we do and the kind of music that I make. It's country and rock and a little blues. Because it's believable and authentic to me and where I'm from and I think that's what's always connected with people."

He said, "When it comes to songs, the one thing I've always tried to pay attention to is what the songs are saying. And I feel like that's what makes it work. If it's something that I can relate to or something that's authentic. I just feel like if if I don't do those kind of songs that are kind of true to to me and who I am. I just feel like people can see through that. It's just not believable to me and it's what I'm the most comfortable doing."

Last month, Aldean released his ninth studio album titled simply 9.
