Last night, Luke Combs made his first performance on Saturday Night Live, in an episode hosted by JJ Watt.

He performed "Beer Never Broke My Heart" and "Lovin' On You." Combs also appeared in promo videos that aired during the week, with Watt and SNL cast member Aidy Bryant. In one of them, Bryant mentioned that "This feels like a big one!"

Combs responds, "Yeah, this is like my Super Bowl!"

To which Watt sadly replies, "Yeah... I guess it's like my Super Bowl, too."

Combs seemed to enjoy his days of rehearsal leading up to his performance, tweeting, "Man, what a surreal day. Such a great day on set for  @nbcsnl.  @JJWatt is a hell of a dude and funny too. Y’all are in for a treat Saturday night. See ya then!"

Brian has been working in pop culture and media for about three decades: he’s worked at MTV, VH1, SiriusXM, CBS and Loudwire. Besides working as a writer and an editor-in-chief, he’s also appeared on air as a pundit, guested on radio shows and hosted podcasts. Over the years, he’s interviewed the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, the members of U2, Beyonce, Pink, Usher, Stevie Nicks, Lorde… and is grateful to have had the chance to interview Joe Strummer of the Clash and Tom Petty.
