Coronavirus Coverage

If we’re being honest, the quarantine has probably put our relationships to a new test.  I’ve seen tons of memes making jokes about marriages not surviving the coronavirus, since many of us have spent a lot more time confined at home with our significant others.

While many of us are probably looking forward to some “me time,” the opposite is true for Joyce & Don Hoffmann.

They’re both 90 years old and have been married for 67 years.

Last month, Joyce was diagnosed with COVID-19 and has been in isolation at a nursing facility ever since–the most time her & Don have ever spent apart in their entire marriage. However, this past weekend, Joyce’s test came back negative and she was released from care.

Her touching reunion with Don was featured on The Today Show, and I’m here to warn you that you’ll probably need a tissue…

Couple married 67 years reunited after wife survives coronavirus

Joyce and Don Hoffman, both 90, were separated after Joyce contracted the coronavirus. This week, they were reunited after Joyce recovered. The couple, who have been married for 67 years, say the separation was the longest they have ever been apart. Weekend TODAY's Peter Alexander has your Weekend Morning Boost.
