Eric Church said earlier this year that he had new music in the works, and now, he has just announced that his new single is “Stick That In Your Country Song.”

Church initially teased the release in a video sent directly to fans, often known as the "Church Choir." He said, “I wanted you guys to hear from me first that a new single is about to hit the world. It’s gonna be the tip of the spear for what’s coming after, and it’s a big spear. I believe it’s the best we’ve ever been in our career.”

Eric says of the new social commentary in the song, “I’ve never had a song in my career that was a harbinger of things to come. When we recorded ‘Stick That in Your Country Song,’ we had a booming economy and a pretty great world going on. And I remember thinking when I did it, ‘Wow, I’m not sure this, I’m not sure how relevant this is for right now. I love the song. I love the sentiment, but I’m just not sure.’ And within about 30 days, the world changed, and it changed for a while, and this song just became more and more real and more and more relevant."

He added, "And truth be told – 100% honesty – I had a different single picked out as the first single, and then the world kept changing and it kept bringing itself almost like a magnet back to this song and back to this moment. So, this song found itself. It wasn’t me finding it, it found itself.”

With a lyric video highlighting this poignant message, Church will be offering fan club members an exclusive sneak peek at the video this Thursday, June 25 ahead of its wide release on Friday, June 26.
