With coronavirus restricting visitation at the Generations of Chapin nursing home in Chapin, South Carolina, the staff is finding creative ways to keep their residents connected to the outside world.

In a post on their Facebook page, Generations of Chapin shared photos of residents, along with a particular hobby or special interest, so potential pen pals can bond over common likes.

I'm definitely going to pick a few of these adorable residents to write to! Social distancing and keeping elderly loved ones safe is so important right now--but it has also been very emotionally draining. A few minutes out of my day is a small price to pay to make someone else's day, and I'm sure this is going to do myself as much good as it's going to do these ladies & gentlemen.

If you'd like to become a Pen Pal for a Generations of Chapin, you can write to:

Generations of Chapin
(Pen Pal Name Here)
431 East Boundary Street
Chapin, South Carolina 29036

You can also send an e-mail with the name of your Pen Pal in the subject line, and the staff will print it to give to the resident: marymac@generationsofchapin.com or Virginia@scgenerations.com.
