Darius Rucker Is Having ‘Serious Conversations’ With His Son

Darius Rucker has been living in Nashville since his recent divorce from his wife of twenty years; his 15-year-old son Jack, has been staying with him.

As Darius shared with us, he's been talking to him about what's going on in the world as people march for Black Lives Matter. He said, "We're talking about it a lot, which is good. With these things right now, you can't keep anything from a kid, you know? And we're talking about it."

He adds, "He's forming his opinions and sometimes, I have to sit down and let him know that's probably not the opinion you want to have. You want to rethink that and look at that again. But that's part of being a parent."

Rucker concludes, "He's a good kid. He's a smart kid. He's really motivated and what he wants to do in life. And so we're getting closer and definitely having serious conversations. I think that's what we have to do."

Darius just released the summer song "Beer and Sunshine." He's been working on writing and recording a new record for 2021.
