Like every American, Alan Jackson was shocked and saddened by the tragedy. He put his sentiments to music and penned his iconic hit, "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning."
"The song came out of nowhere," Alan says." Although reluctant to record the song, Alan's friends & family encouraged him to share it with the world, and it became an anthem of remembrance for 9/11.
For the 50th anniversary of the Country Music Association, Alan recalled his emotional performance of "Where Were You" at the 2001 CMA Awards.
