Kelsea Ballerini definitely keeps an eye on what people say about her on social media, and she certainly was paying attention today after her CMT performance with Halsey last night (10/21).

Kelsea posted to Instagram less than a hour ago along with a photo of herself on the computer, "After reading way to many comments I'd like to remind people that there are different kinds of country music and none are more 'real' than others when it comes from an honest place."

She added, "That women can wear whatever we want and shouldn't be called names and criticized for it. And that if you don't have something nice to say, politely shut up."

Little Big Town applauded the post and Lindsay Ell, responded, "Yuppp" with heart emojis.

All the comments on this post were positive with one fan writing in response, "Well damn if lip syncing was EVER an option which it NEVER would be, we would of been dancing on top of that bar the entire time hanging from the ceilings and jumping around. hhahahaha no one can fathom looking that good, moving and singing that good at the same time. That’s why it seems unimaginable and that’s why you are who you are a f#%&% STAR."

In addition on Twitter, Reese Witherspoon loved the performance hinting that she wanted to be a part of it next time.

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
