Keith Urban On How Nicole Kidman Gave Him ‘Artistic Courage’

Keith Urban loves all of his wife Nicole Kidman's acting roles for different reasons, and when asked which are his favorite, he hesitates a bit and says, "You know, it's really more the way she approaches things that has inspired me. She's really daring and will just go towards things that interest her."

He explains, "And she didn't do it fearlessly. She does it in spite of being nervous or having trepidation. She just does it anyway. And I think I've learned a lot from her about that way to approach art. She has an attitude of like, 'Well, just try and if it doesn't work, you did try it.'"

Keith adds, "Maybe there was a time I wouldn't have reached out to some of the collaborators because I'd be worried I'm not good enough or blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and maybe I'm not but I'm gonna find out and see if I can step up to the plate. So, a lot of that artistic courage has come from my wife's influence for sure."

Nicole wished her husband a Happy Birthday earlier this week on Instagram, saying, "Happy Birthday my love! Love is in the air."
