Dolly Parton can add to her all around hero status, as Americans are realizing that Dolly Parton Research fund helped to fund the COVID-19 vaccine that Moderna announced yesterday.

Dr. Meade Crosby posted to Twitter, "Fact-checking this was worth it just to see @DollyParton in the acknowledgments of a @NEJM article. And I thought I couldn’t love her more."

Many people responded on Twitter including on fan who wrote, "The comeback of Dolly Parton was one of a handful of things that were genuinely good this year."

Another fan wrote, "Dolly never left. She just moves so fast sometimes it takes the rest of us a minute to catch up with her."

As we wrote, back in April, Dolly donated one million dollars to Nashville's Vanderbilt University Hospital to help pay for research to find a cure for the coronavirus.

She posted to Instagram that day, "My longtime friend Dr. Naji Amburad informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for cure."

Dolly added, "I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people who can afford it to make donations."
