When we found out that Kicks 99 was the CMA Station of the Year, I was obviously thrilled (to the point of sobs, actually.) It was a highlight of my career in radio, to be sure…but THIS is every bit as cool, to be honest.
A reporter from my hometown newspaper reached out and asked to talk about Kicks 99’s recent CMA win. I thought it was very cool that they wanted to feature the story – what I WASN’T expecting was a full spread on the front page!
Coming from a Mayberry-like small town, the Sunday paper is a HUGE deal. Everyone reads the Mooresville Tribune, and the thought of all my friends & family seeing it is a pretty surreal feeling.
