During a fun interview with GQ magazine where Dolly Parton went online and answered fan questions, she discussed why she turned down Katy Perry when asked to perform at the Super Bowl half time show in 2015.

In a segment called "Actually Dolly Parton," Dolly answered a fan in the video clip below around the five minute mark, saying, "That is true. And I would have done it, because I love Katy Perry."

She explained, "At the time my husband was not doing good. He was kind of puny and I couldn’t leave him, so I couldn't do it."

Parton did not elaborate on his illness and she keeps her marriage quite private. She did confirm to another fan that in 2016 on her 50th wedding anniversary she and her hubby got remarried in an elaborate ceremony at her Tennessee estate.
