Luke Combs wrote what he is now calling a "trilogy" of love songs for his 2020 bride Nicole and now the third of those songs "Better Together" has hit number one on the country charts; the trilogy's first two songs -- “Beautiful Crazy” and a“Forever After All” -- also topped the charts.

Luke said of his his latest number one "Better Together," "I wrote this song in Boone [North Carolina] probably two years ago, something like that, my buddies Dan Isbell and Randy Montana were up there. 'Beautiful Crazy' was already done and out at that time, so I kinda felt like I needed to do another song that was kind of, I guess it’s kind of ended up turning into like a trilogy, 'Beautiful Crazy,' and then it’s 'Better Together,' and then 'Forever After All.'"

He adds, "That’s kind of our whole story up to this point in a way. You know, I just wanted her to know that I’m always thinking about her, and there’s always inspiration there. This song just happened to be what we came up with that day."
