On his 69th birthday (5/18), George Strait was announced as the closing act for next year's (2022) Rodeo Houston festivities with a concert (while Strait has actually ridden in the rodeo in years past, this year he's simply going to perform). Rodeo Houston will run February 28-March 20 at NRG Stadium, with an extra day added for Strait's performance.
This will be Strait's 31st RodeoHouston performance. To date, Strait has entertained more than 1.7 million RodeoHouston fans. He was inducted into the Star Trail of Fame in 1996.
According to the Houston Chronicle, tickets for Strait’s concert performance go on sale on June 24. There is a limit of four per person. In addition, All activities on the grounds, including shopping, carnival, and livestock competitions, will be open on the day of Strait's performance.
