It’s National Pizza Day! Jess shares her least favorite to favorite toppings

Pizza

A Margherita pie is seen served at the famous Lombardi’s Pizza amid the COVID-19 pandemic on July 07, 2020 in New York, New York. In 1905, Lombardi’s Pizza was recognized as the First Pizzeria in the United States. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Lombardi’s has reopened its doors once again.

I love pizza and could literally it eat it every day. Whether it's regular, thin, thick, Chicago, New York, or Detroit style, I don't discriminate! However, there are some toppings I prefer more than others.  I've ranked the least likely to order on a pizza to most likely to order on a pizza:

5. Anchovies

Honestly, I would eat anchovies on pizza. I might order them on the side and add to my liking. However, I mostly likely would leave them out entirely.

4. Pineapple

Yes, I think pineapple does belong on pizza! But, the only time I order it is if it's included in the toppings of a Hawaiian style pizza. The salty sweet combo of ham, pineapple, and bacon is delicious! But, pineapple as a stand alone topping? Not something I would order in my opinion.

3. Broccoli

This is another topping that if it were on a veggie style pizza, I would eat it. Broccoli just kind of takes the fun away from pizza. Leave it as a side dish and not a pizza topping.

2. Bacon

Not all bacon is created equal. So I generally find myself leaving bacon off a pizza entirely because I'm picky about the quality and the way it's cooked. It's kind of a pain to ask for crispy bacon on a pizza so I usually avoid it.

1. Pepperoni

Because it's a classic topping and it's really hard to mess up pepperoni. I order it on any pizza I buy.

No matter what toppings you like or don't like, I hope you're able to enjoy a slice of your favorite 'za on this day.
