Blake Shelton told a crowd of radio programmers at CRS (Country Radio Seminar) a few weeks back when it's time to retire, he's going to call it a day.

Blake said, “It’s always over at some point, and I’ve always been prepared for that, and I’ve braced myself for it."

He added, “I’m not somebody that’s ever going to beat my head against the wall, because this room, these people, this industry has given me way more than I ever deserved, and I know that and I’m thankful and I’m proud of that. When it’s my time to make room for somebody else, the last thing I want to do is keep screaming to keep my spot."

Shelton's first single ("Austin") was released over twenty years ago, and he is aware that he's hasn't got much time left in the spotlight. He offered, "I learned to accept it a few years ago, maybe three or four or five years ago than it’s coming.”

Meanwhile, Blake traveled back in time in his latest Instagram post of a photo of himself about 20 years ago. He captioned the image complete with his mullet and cowboy hat, "When you #ComeBackAsACountryBoy, it’s all about the paisley print, y’all..."
