One person is in custody after Tuesday’s mauling death of a seven-month-old girl at a home in Columbia County.
An incident report says the dog owner is part owner, with her brother, of the home in the 3700 block of Columbia Drive where the fatal attack occurred. The report makes no mention of any charges that were filed, but says the child, Serenity Garnett, was in the care of her great-grandmother who was also injured. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The dog, an American Bulldog/Great Pyrenees mix, is being held by Animal Services.
