CSRA News: Aiken County Man Faces More Charges
An Aiken County man who was involved in a shootout with police after holding a woman hostage now faces more charges.
Forty two year old Nathaniel Meade is accused of forcing a woman to drive around the area while he held her at gunpoint, livestreaming most of the event on Facebook.
The hours-long incident shut down a portion of Jefferson-Davis Highway for hours. Meade was injured during a shootout with police. Once he was released from Augusta University Medical Center, he was extradited to Aiken County where he’s been held since Wednesday. Additional charges of kidnapping, assault and battery, breach of peace and possession of a weapon during a violent crime were filed this week.
