CSRA News: Georgia Spending More to Fight Crime
Georgia will spend more to fight crime in the budget year that begins July 1. Governor Brian Kemp signed a more than $30 billion budget Thursday with money for 10 more SWAT troopers with the Georgia State Patrol and nearly 70 new GBI employees including scientists, crime lab techs and 10 more positions in the state medical examiner’s office.
State troopers combatting crime in metro Atlanta will see their paychecks increase by 10% as of July 1.
