Luke Bryan is looking towards this long Fourth of July weekend while looking back at the past and what he and his family did while growing up in Georgia.

Luke told us, "A typical Fourth of July, we would float a watermelon in the pool. Fourth Of July was always based on how poor we were. If it was a good year, we'd go over to Fort Gaines and cook hamburgers at the community park and grill there, and we'd go waterskiing."

Bryan said at times, he and the family were homebound. He offered, "Some years, we had it at our swimming pool in the backyard, and we would pop fireworks. I think the beauty of the Fourth is getting together, ribs on the grill, and sweet corn as long as there is some form of smoking pork. Watermelons, sweet corn, that's just the way you gotta do it."

Tomorrow (7/1), Luke releases a brand new song. He posted to Instagram, "I say hey hey USA…we ain't seen our better days" #countryon #newmusicfriday."
