Today is one of those days that feels like it just happened yesterday but in all reality, it wasn’t at all. According to This Day In Country Music July 18th, 1990. 32 years ago the number one song in Country music belong to, Garth Brooks. The song, The Dance. A song that many people say is Garth’s signature song and some people call the greatest song in Country Music History. The song spent 3 weeks at number one on the Billboard Country Music Chart
The Dance has been played at funerals, celebration of life gatherings, world event happenings, and more.
The music video was just as big as the song itself. It paid tribute to Keith Whitley, Martin Luther King Jr., Lane Frost, The crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger just before the shuttle disintegrated in 1986, President John F. Kennedy, and John Wayne. The video in 2004 was named the #5 video of all time according to CMT’s countdown of the top 100 video’s of all time.
