I think it goes without saying that I love music, but I really love digging into local music. Now by local music I mean not only music by artists here in the CSRA, but also in the Georgia and South Carolina area. When you really dig in, we have soooo many famous artists that have come from Georgia and South Carolina. Some of them I bet you didn’t even know were from the two state. For example, from Georgia we have Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Zac Brown, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Ludacris, Outkast, The Allman Brothers, Gladys Knight, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood, Cole Swindell and Little Richard just to name a few. From South Carolina we’re talking the likes of Lee Brice, Josh Turner, The Marshall Tucker Band and Edwin McCain among a bunch of others, but who is the most famous musician from Georgia and South Carolina? Well the folks at Insider ranked the most famous musician from each state and I’m curious if y’all agree with who they chose for Georgia and South Carolina? Lets see who they chose for a few other Southern states. In Alabama they chose Hank Williams, hard to argue that right? For Arkansas, Johnny Cash, again who is going to say he’s not the most famous musician from Arkansas. As for North Carolina they chose John Coltrane, do you agree with that? For Tennessee, Dolly Parton is the most famous musician. So who is the most famous from Georgia and from South Carolina? Well you can read the full list here, but I’ll give you a couple of hints. South Carolina’s most famous musician comes to see us a lot here in Kicks Country, and Georgia’s most famous musician has an arena named after him! Do you agree with these choices?
