A woman died when she fell from an escalator after a Kenny Chesney concert on Saturday night at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. Chesney issued a statement saying he was "devastated."

The Denver Post reports that the woman, who was not named, was sitting on the escalator railing when she fell to the concourse below and died as a result of her injuries.

Kenny said in a statement to the paper, "I was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show. There had been so much joy and heart coming from the people of Denver last night — and to hear this is heartbreaking. Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together, and that love we share makes us so much more. For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words. For her friends and family's loss, I grieve with them and for them."

Police first announced the death just after 11 p.m. Saturday (7/30). On Sunday (7/21), they described the woman as a "guest" at Empower Field and said her death was being investigated as an accident.
