Augusta Dog Rescue Works To Save Injured Pup

My animal-loving heart is breaking.  One of my friends from Dog and Cat Networking Agents reached out to me today about a puppy they have rescued.  This sweet girl was apparently hit by a car a week or two ago.  And to tug on my heartstrings even more? They are calling her Harley. Lord knows I love my own Harley girl, and this pup is no different.

Harley is a miracle.  Her back leg is a broken mess, and both hips have been broken.  Dog Networking Agents brought her in and took her to Care More Animal Hospital.  But unfortunately, after evaluating all their options, Harley will need a specialist to operate on her, given her severe injuries. This is the ONLY option.

Despite the injuries, I will tell you... this girl has the sweetest spirit.  I met her today. As soon as I came into the room, her tail started wagging.  She knows good people! She nuzzled and licked my hand.  For a dog with such injuries, I was amazed at how happy she was.

Talking with Hayley from Dog Networking Agents, I learned that the surgery Harley will need is probably $10-15K.  And sure, most people think... Why would you pay that much to help this dog?

You know they say everything happens for a reason, right?  I truly believe that.  This girl was found and someone helped her out, and she survived a week or two with severe injuries.  And on top of that? She's got the sweetest temperament. She is a fighter, with the will to survive.

Dog Networking Agents will be taking Harley to Columbia on Monday at 1 p.m. to see a specialist and find out the final cost.  But without the funds, they won't be able to save her.  Without the surgery, Harley will have no quality of life.
