Kelsea Ballerini posted to her Insta stories this morning (8/29) that she and her husband Morgan Evans, married since December 2017, are getting divorced.

Kelsea posted a written message on her Insta stories that read, in part, “I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce. This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end. It’s hard to find the words here … but I feel extremely grateful for years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons.”

She continued, “It’s hard to find the words here… but I feel extremely grateful for the years to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons.”

Ballerini ended the post with, “With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing and showing up the best we can.”

According to court documents, Kelsea filed for divorce on Friday (8/26).
