Thomas Rhett had to cancel a weekend performance in San Diego because of a vocal irritation that prevented him from being able to sing. He took to social media to tell fans that he was so sorry he had to cancel.

Rhett posted to Instagram, "It breaks my heart to say this, but unfortunately, I am not able to sing tonight due to vocal irritation and swelling, and we are having to cancel the show at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre."

He continued, "I am so sorry this announcement is so close to show time. For those of you who have already traveled to the show, I sincerely apologize. We've been working all day to try and make the show happen, but it's just not going to be possible, and have been advised not to perform this evening. Everyone will be offered a refund at the point of purchase."

Rhett closed the post by saying, "I love you, Home Team, and hate that we are unable to play for you tonight. TR."

Hundreds of fans responded to the post, including Thomas' buddy and fellow country star Tyler Hubbard, who commented, "Dang, I'm Sorry buddy. Hope you heal up quick."

Rhett just recently extended his "Bring The Bar To You Tour," including dates in Canada through 2023.

He said of the new dates, "It's been an absolute blast being back on the road this summer, and we are so excited to take the tour to Canada next year. It feels like forever since we were last able to play for those fans. They always bring an insane amount of energy, and we cannot wait to get up there and see them again."

That extended tour features Jordan Davis and Kameron Marlowe as openers, tickets for the new dates in Canada are available for purchase at https://thomasrhett.com/. The tour is produced by Live Nation.

Thomas Rhett has released four albums including his latest effort, Center Point Road.

He's moved to the top of the country heap quickly: he's already playing big arenas and has scored 19 number one songs and is the reigning Male Vocalist of the Year for the CMA and the ACM.
