When Carrie Underwood graduated from high school, she had two black eyes. She shared photographic proof of this, along with some other awkward photos, in a post on TikTok. The post is part of the current “Teenage Dirtbag” trend.

Carrie posted a video collage of images from her teenage years, including a photo of her with braces, out hiking, many photos with friends, and even a glamorous type photo of her posing on a motorcycle. She captioned the video with “Teenage Dirtbag” playing, “As someone who was a teenager when this song was actually on the radio…enjoy the awkwardness…Also, I did, indeed, graduate with the black eyes (senior school trip softball mishap). #TeenageDirtbag.”

The post was liked over 33,000 times, and many fans commented on it. One wrote, “Wow! gorgeous then and now!” Another fan commented, “CARRIE, YOU WIN THIS TREND.”

The “Teenage Dirtbag” trend on TikTok has over one billion views, and many celebrities have posted similar videos, including comedian David Spade and Victoria Beckham, just to name a few. The version of the song that everyone using isn’t the original version by Wheatus, but a newer, sped-up version, according to Nylon

The famous song from 2000 from Wheatus includes the lyrics, “Her name is Noelle / I have a dream about her / She rings my bell / I got gym class in half an hour / Oh, how she rocks / In Keds and tube socks / But she doesn’t know who I am / And she doesn’t give a damn about me / ‘Cause I’m just a teenage dirtbag, baby / Yeah, I’m just a teenage dirtbag, baby / Listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me / Oo-o-o-oo-o-oh.”

Underwood attended Checotah High School, where she was an Honor Society member and a cheerleader and played basketball and softball. She  graduated from Checotah High School in 2001 as a salutatorian (she graduated second in her class)
