This week's Country Cover Songs is Blake Shelton Vs. Kenny Loggins. It's time to get a little Footloose! Lets go back to the mid 80s and try to see which version of this song is better. One thing I love about the 80s and 90s that you don't get anymore is soundtrack songs. Back in the day artists would release songs just for soundtracks. Just like in 1984 when Kenny Loggins released "Footloose" for the movie of the same title.

And just like everything from the 80s, "Footloose" was remade 30 years later. And with a movie remake, comes a song remake, and Blake Shelton was the one who did it. The remake came out in 2011. Since we've got some background on the two versions of the song now, lets figure out which one is better.

Just like anything, you're always drawn to the original. And when the original is this good how can you not be? "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins is a great song! I dare you to not want to kick off your Sunday shoes when you hear it. Usually the remake of anything, be it a song or a movie, is pretty underwhelming. Not this time though, Blake Shelton delivered!

I think it's because Blake didn't try to go too far out of the box. He stayed true to the original, with just a little bit of an update. This is probably the reason why I have a hard time deciding which "Footloose" version I like the best. I'm going to leave it up to y'all. Which Country Cover Song do you think is best?

Here's Kenny Loggin's version of "Footloose".
