The Kicks Wake Up Krew

Weekday Mornings 5:30 - 10:00

Augusta’s Bell Auditorium is set to close for nearly a year for renovations. Earlier this year I told you that there would be some cool updates coming to The Bell. If you missed that story, you can read it all here. Well, now we know when the Bell will close and how long it will be closed. According to our friends at WJBF News Channel 6, The Bell is set to close in July of this year and will be closed until at least July of 2024.

However, when The Bell reopens, it will have a lot of really cool new features. There will be a new grand lobby. More concessions will be added, which means less time standing in line for beer! Also, there will be new restrooms, and the BMW Club will be expanded. The entire project will cost over $880,000. The Coliseum Authority is trying to attract more and bigger events to the CSRA.

According to the WJBF article, the James Brown Arena will remain open and will “accommodate most events that would normally be held in the Bell Auditorium by using event drapes to create a more intimate setting.” So no need to worry, we’ll still be plenty entertained while The Bell Auditorium gets its facelift.
