A Bad Morning

It happens to all of us. We get up, head to work in a good mood and something happens. Flat tire, someone cuts you off in traffic, rock hits the windshield, and you're looking at a considerable expense... it's easy to get in a funk. I struggle with it at times, too. We all do.

Here are some How To Turn A Bad Day Around tips from some experts.

The first thing I think about when my day starts badly is to stay in bed, but the boss wouldn't like that!

Paste This Quote On Your Wall

The shortcut began to unfold when I read the book, ‘Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl. One quote from that book carries such profound meaning it forces me to recalibrate my emotions every time I read it.

This quote alone won’t get you over the bad day hump, but the application of it — which I share later — will change the way you interpret disappointing experiences.

‘Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way’ — Viktor Frankl

You own the response to whatever crap life throws at you. It’s the only freedom they can never steal from you, ‘to choose one’s attitude in any given situation.’

That’s all well and good, but in the midst of a tailspin, you need a practical tool — one you can apply to real life. You need a mechanism that enables you to change your perspective and gives you the benefit of immediate hindsight.

Grateful

I look at it as we all have so much to be grateful for. I try to look at the positives in my life, but when something happens early in the morning, like a broken windshield on the way to work, it's hard to be positive. We just have to try our best, right?

Have a great day, friends!
