Artists That Were Rejected By American Idol
You’re going to be shocked when you see this list of artists that were rejected by American Idol. These artists may have been told “we’re going to pass” by the Idol judges, but they went on to find great success. This just goes to show that if a reality show tells you that you don’t have what it takes, don’t listen!
Let’s start with Hillary Scott from Lady A. She tried out for American Idol twice, and never even got to sing in front of the judges. Hillary would show them though. With Lady A, she’s gone on to sell millions of albums, and sell out shows all over the country. She’s even won several Grammy awards. I wonder if the producers were sad they passed on her.
How about Maren Morris, she was rejected from American Idol and The Voice. That’s got to be really tough. When not just one, but two shows pass on you. However, I think that was the motivation that Maren used to make it. Now just like Hillary Scott, Maren is selling out shows all over the place. She’s scoring number one songs and winning the biggest awards.
I’ll give you another one, Kane Brown was rejected by American Idol. The producers told him “they didn’t need another Scotty McCreery”. Wow! I bet they were kicking themselves for that comment after he went on to become one of the most successful male artists in country.

If the producers of Idol passed on this kind of talent, should they really be judging a singing competition? I think this just goes to show, just because one person says no, keep pushing. Not everyone will say no.
